DENVER
By Stanley Hudson
The Mile High City, known for its thin air, saw its fair share of attempts to create an organized crime presence in the city. During the year, it is reported that six different people attempted the feat. The first leader came from an expansion project from the Black Bottom Crew.
Dante Rosson moved to Denver to set up a family when the Black Bottom Crew expanded its operations to many of the cities across the country. Dante’s family was small as the family was just starting its operations. After Evil Son died attacking Billy Bad Ass, Dante faced a conflict. A Made Man from the Chicago Outfit, Gunzi, had offered to fight Dante and the two met in the same city to proceed with the duel. Gunzi was victorious eliminating the leader of Denver. The rest of the family was soon eliminated leaving Denver without a crime family.
Vento soon managed to get ownership papers of a headquarters in Denver. He would take this opportunity to set up his own family. Vento ran a small operation out of Denver and would soon receive a promotion from the Godfather to Capo. Trouble found its way to Denver yet again when Vento was killed shortly after his promotion. It is believed Chicago Boss Billy Bad Ass was responsible for Vento’s death but the family Vento built remained unharmed after his death.
When Vento died, Made Man Gio Jr took over possession of the Denver headquarters. Much like his predecessor, Gio Jr kept a small family. Early on, the Denver family faced harsh criticism from other members of society when it was noticed that the Denver members were barely around their own business district. Listening to that criticism, the Denver family did start to build up its business district and in the process developed a core group of members. When La Stidda Mafia’s hit squad led by Carmine Sanito and Devon Debonair started to eliminate people, the Denver family tried to stay neutral but they would soon face the wrath of the hit squad as many members of Las Vegas sought protection from the Police Captain to regroup. Boss Gio Jr and the rest of the Denver family were quickly taken out by the hit squad as the family was under-protected compared to their foes. The death of the family in Denver resulted in a lack of organized crime in the city that would last for months.
Denver would remain a barren city until xREVx came from Los Angeles to set up a family. xREVx built a modest family after getting a chance to start his own crime syndicate in Denver as La Stidda Mafia built a presence on the entire Western side of the country. With Don Rocket’s retirement, xREVx’s family officially became its own entity and grew in size as members of Los Angeles joined him in Denver. When the families in Los Angeles and Las Vegas were eliminated by the Detroit and New York families, xREVx decided to move his family from Denver to Los Angeles where he was more at home and where there were more lucrative options for his crime syndicate.
Denver would once again have an organized crime presence in the city when Sabralyn was authorized to buy a safe house in the city. She came to Denver from Los Angeles after working under Ciro. When a hit took place on the Los Angeles Boss, Denver became targeted. Being strong allies with Los Angeles, Capo Sabralyn was taken out by an unidentified hit man from the Freemasons which ended her short reign of the city.
Denver saw its final attempt to bring organized crime to the city in the form of The Colorado Connection. Donnie Lupo received authorization from leader of the Kempeitai, Ronin, to set up a family in the city. The Capo has built a modest family for the city and has announced that citizens, thugs, and hoodlums will be able to visit his city safely. Denver heads into the New Year with the Colorado Connection running organized crime in the city under the tutelage of leader Donnie Lupo appearing well positioned for continued success.
DETROIT
By Toby Flenderson
There were many ups and downs for the various crime syndicates operating in the Motor City. It is believed that ten different people attempted to lead a crime syndicate over the year. Detroit started the year in excellent position with the Black Bottom Crew operating in the city. It is believed Consigliere Big Black died close to the start of the year leaving the Black Bottom Crew in the hands of a new leader.
Boss Pagan was the next leader in line and took over the large Detroit family. With a mafia presence in four cities, the family moved its sub-crews that were operating in the city to the barren cities of the country. The Black Bottom Crew looked to be on path to run a successful criminal organization all over the country. Spreading the family out, breaking up the core was a risk to the family and the Chicago Outfit took it as an opportunity to strike. Detroit witnessed more than half of the leaders of its expansion project fall before the Chicago Outfit went after Pagan. Chicago Capo Mrs. Brooks met in the same city as Pagan and the two dueled with Mrs. Brooks coming out victorious. The Black Bottom Crew proceeded to be eliminated until a peace agreement could be reached with new Detroit leader, Sammy Gravano.
With Sammy Gravano leading Detroit, he tried to make the city his own by changing the name of the crime syndicate to the Gravano Crime Family. Sammy’s reign as leader of Detroit did not last long though. Just weeks after reaching a peace agreement, a conflict erupted involving La Stidda Mafia and the Detroit family. Tensions stayed high even after reaching the peace agreement so when a conflict started involving a Detroit Goomba, Rocket took action to eliminate the Detroit family. Already wounded from losing so many members weeks earlier, Rocket and La Stidda Mafia made short work of the family putting an end to organized crime in Detroit.
Shortly after the Gravano Crime Family’s downfall, Leroy D set up a criminal organization. Coming from Black Mafia Vegas, the Made Man planned on restarting a criminal organization known as the Priesthood. Leroy D was able to build a small family as gaining any more interest was difficult with many developed crime syndicates already operating around the country. Things were going well for the small Detroit family until it is believed Leroy D got word from someone he trusted that Rocket was planning on taking him out. With an old acquaintance from Black Mafia Vegas, Capo Nico Nosto, Leroy D took up arms looking to take out the Los Angeles family. The plan was succeeding until Rocket came online. Rocket and Nico Nosto fought first with the Los Angeles leader coming out on top. Rocket then turned his attention to Leroy D and the two fought until Rocket took a flight out of Chicago. Cyrus Virus soon flew to Chicago to take on his former family member. The two fought with bodyguards dying on each side until Cyrus shot and killed the Detroit leader. This marked the end of Capo Leroy D’s attempt to bring back the Priesthood.
oODOOMTRAINOo was the next Mafioso to be given authorization to start up a criminal organization in the city. He ran a small operation out of Detroit, and had the same limitations as the Priesthood did due to all the other thriving crime syndicates across the country. Things were going well for the new leader of Detroit until he was taken out unexpectedly. The reasons are unknown for the death of the Detroit Capo but it is believed he was killed by someone’s bodyguard. That bodyguard’s death only hours later caused the murderer’s identity to remain a mystery.
The Underboss of the Detroit family, Capo Mean Machine, took over the family after oODOOMTRAINOo’s death. He kept going where his former boss left off and the criminal organization continued to run smoothly. Mean Machine’s reign in Detroit would be a short one as only weeks after taking over, La Stidda Mafia’s hit squad mainly consisting of Carmine Sanito, Devon Debonair, and Red Rabbit took out the new leader. The rest of the family would soon be eliminated causing Detroit to no longer have a crime family operating in the city.
Coming from the Bucktown Boys, Ryuzaki was the next to attempt to run a family in Detroit. Shortly after starting out, Ryuzaki watched as his former family was eliminated by La Stidda Mafia. He grew his family after this as many new thugs and hoodlums needed a family to join. Ryuzaki’s reign in Detroit would follow the past leaders of Detroit and only last a short while. Capo Dick Stroker from the Everglade Trust soon had a conflict with the Detroit leader and acted quickly taking him out putting an end to Ryuzaki’s hope to lead Detroit.
Dino Zoff would later gain authorization to run Detroit and set up a crime family. Dino attempted to differ himself from the other leaders of the country right away as he let the country know that his members would not be sporting any type of tag on their clothing or arms and would dress in black and white suits only. Dino’s family would soon gain interest and developed a strong core in a moderately sized family. Dino’s main focus as leader of Detroit was to start a country wide Commission which was successfully completed. During conflicts with the families from the West Coast, Detroit lost most of the core of the family when eliminating two Dons from Los Angeles. Shortly after, the Commission set up by Dino soon failed when three of the members on it were taken out of leadership when Dayton Fall was attacked. After these events happened and after Detroit lost more members in conflicts with Muppets Construction Inc, the family went into decline. Jack Carter soon took over the headquarters of the crime family from Creed effectively ending Dino’s reign in Detroit as the leader went into semi-retirement and Creed would leave for the old country. Jack Carter would keep the family running smoothly but would soon move his operation to Miami to make the family his own.
The next presence of organized crime would come in the form of an expansion project from the Freemasons of Chicago. Sweet Darkness set up a crime family in the city announcing that family would be known as the Partnership. With only four other crime organizations operating in the country, the Partnership grew to be a moderately sized family. Things were going well for the leader of Detroit until she ranked a member of her family that the other leaders in the country did not agree with. This was a hiccup in Detroit and the family kept moving onwards until another conflict started. One of the top members of her criminal organization was killed by a believed rogue agent hiding under the protection of the Police Captain. Days later, the leader of the Partnership met with an old man that informed her that her member was killed by Dayton Fall of the Kempeitai. Tensions grew between the two families and the Kempeitai soon struck when Capo Migeru took out the Detroit Consigliere. The rest of the family from Detroit were soon killed or found a home with a new family ending organized crime in Detroit once again. Going into the New Year, Detroit remained a city devoid any sort of crime family.
LAS VEGAS
By Jim Halpert
The Entertainment Capital of the World has always been a popular destination for organized crime outfits and this year was no exception. It is believed that six leaders led a family in Las Vegas during the year. Sin City saw its share positives and negatives during that period with the most positive moment for the city coming right at the end of the year.
Evil Son became the first Las Vegas leader of the year when he moved his Black Bottom Crew sub-crew to Las Vegas as part of the family’s expansion project. As one of the largest sub-crews from Black Bottom Crew, Las Vegas had a positive outlook on its future. Evil Son’s reign in Las Vegas would be short though as a conflict with the Chicago Outfit would spell trouble for the new Las Vegas leader. It is believed Evil Son wacked a member of the Chicago Outfit after that member received authorization to kill a Goomba from Las Vegas. Evil Son, fearing that the Chicago Outfit would take him out soon took the fight to them. Meeting Billy Bad Ass in Chicago, the fight didn’t last long as the Chicago leader quickly took out Evil Son. Organized crime in Las Vegas was then held in limbo as a new leader was being sought to take over the family that was left untouched.
The Mafioso selected to lead the Las Vegas family would be Cyrus Virus. He had a solid relationship with the Chicago Outfit coming from the family so Las Vegas would not play a part in the war with the Black Bottom Crew. With a partnership with Dayton Fall, the leaders would build Black Mafia Vegas into one of the bigger crime families in the country. The family from Vegas would expand to the city of Detroit on two occasions, both proving to be unsuccessful. Things were going well for Black Mafia Vegas as it had a strong alliance and had successfully taken out families from Atlanta. Nothing lasts forever and the family from Las Vegas soon met its doom. La Stidda Mafia sent out a hit squad when it is believed the family found out Cyrus Virus would be in the old country for an extended period. Dayton Fall had just moved across the country to start his own family so Las Vegas was at its most vulnerable. The hit squad, lead by Carmine Sanito and Devon Debonair, eliminated most of the Vegas family as many members of the family went to the mattresses under the protection of the Police Captain. In what proved to be a long drawn out war, La Stidda Mafia suffered few losses as it eliminated the Vegas family. Rocket ended up being the one to end the war by killing Cyrus Virus once he got back to the country, though Cyrus Virus put up a strong effort fighting on two separate occasions. Las Vegas was without a presence from the mob for the first time in months.
La Stidda Mafia took advantage of the empty city nearby and TP was authorized to start a family. His family started out small but much like the trend of families in Las Vegas, the family soon grew to be larger as some of the kin from fallen members of the Everglade Trust and the Bucktown Boys joined. Under the protection of La Stidda Mafia, the family in Vegas was virtually untouchable. When La Stidda Mafia disbanded, TP officially announced that his family was moving on to go its own way. TP soon had a conflict with Muppets Construction Inc. as it is believed the New York family was unhappy with its business relations with the Las Vegas leader. TP’s reign was soon to come to an end as New York Consigliere, Kush, met him in Chicago. A fight broke out between the two that cost many bodyguards their lives. The fight ended with Kush coming out on top leaving the Las Vegas leader lying in a pool of his own blood. With the rest of the family falling shortly after, Las Vegas was once again without a crime family.
In a twist, the man who killed the former Las Vegas leader would soon take control of the city. Kush had set up a small family in Las Vegas but his reign would not last long. A war broke out with the family from Los Angeles and Kush would be targeted. Fighting after the rest of his family had been taken out; it is reported that xREVx posed as an ordinary citizen and shot Kush before the new Las Vegas leader could shoot back. With the Consigliere dead, Las Vegas was an open city.
Muppets Construction Inc. didn’t take long to attempt another expansion into the city that was in demand of cocaine. London Fella soon bought a safe house and set up a small family. The expansion was going well in Las Vegas with London Fella setting rules in his city that saw money go in his pocket anytime someone visited his city. The bright future for the city soon came to an end when London Fella joined his fellow ally, CC, in a plan to take out Dayton Fall. The Capo met Dayton Fall in Dallas after the Miami leader caught a flight there. The two exchanged gunfire with bodyguards dropping on both sides until Dayton was locked away in the local jail. While Dayton was locked away, Miami Capo Joey Panama flew to Dallas and fought the Las Vegas leader ultimately winning the fight ending London Fella’s reign. With a second failed attempt to expand into Las Vegas from Muppets Construction Inc, Las Vegas would be without organized crime for close to a month.
Las Vegas soon found a new leader in Ronin. The Capo bought a safe house and officially announced to the city that his crime family would be known as the Kempeitai. It is reported that Ronin was to operate with member restrictions from New York leader, Bobby Blackout. Even with those restrictions, Ronin quickly built as big a family as he could. Working hard, Ronin soon was promoted to Boss. Shortly after his promotion it is believed word got out about a likely attack from Muppets Construction Inc. on the Kempeitai. With knowledge of the possible attack, the Freemasons of Chicago and the Kempeitai aligned with each other and successfully eliminated the New York, Dallas and Atlanta families.
This marked the beginning of a historic run for the new powers. Ronin quickly worked his way to promotions of Consigliere and Don while the Kempeitai grew in size. With the majority of bodyguards owned by members of Las Vegas along with a strong alliance with the Freemasons, Ronin set his sights on working to get promoted to Godfather. Ronin soon realized he had the option to proclaim himself as Godfather and retire. However, upon attempting to proclaim himself Godfather, nothing happened as people still saw and treated him as the Don of Las Vegas. After some confusion was cleared up, Ronin realized he had to work more to prove himself worthy of the rank of Godfather.
Persistence paid off for the Las Vegas leader as he was soon successfully able to proclaim himself as Godfather of Las Vegas and retire. This marked the first time someone properly met the requirements for the promotion. With Ronin retired, Las Vegas restructured its organization and Underboss Nino Salerno took over the crime family. All is well with the Kempeitai heading into the New Year as the family is still celebrating the historic achievement by Godfather Ronin.
MESSAGE FROM THE EDITOR
An error occurred in the last Issue of the Reflector, where it was reported that Needles Kane was killed by Pagan. While it is believed she was involved in his death, new reports have materialized indicating that Needles Kane was actually killed by Saladin, of the Black Bottom Crew. Also, Angelo Cerrano shot the Pharmacist to near death, but it was Everglade from Detroit who killed the Chicago leader in the end. The Reflector apologizes for these errors.
